During the summer, numerous boat trips around the island are organized. They last half a day and leave from Marciana Marina, Marina di Campo and Porto Azzurro.
Island of Pianosa: daily guided excursions to the island of Pianosa, called Devil’s Island, known for being the seat of the maximum security prison.
The island is beautiful, with a virtually untouched sea. On its territory there are important Roman ruins such as the villa of Agrippa, the catacombs and the ancient port. Also the old town of the ‘800 and many suggestive corners are worth a visit. The excursion to Pianosa lasts a whole day and you are accompanied by a guide.
Cableway – Elba Island-Monte Capanne: it is the highest mountain on the island (1,019 meters) and can be easily reached thanks to the cableway that starts near Marciana. On clear days it is possible to see a formidable panorama with a view of the whole Elba, the islands of the Archipelago, the Etruscan Coast and Corsica. Not to be missed.
Park’s Houses: at the Pisana Fortress of Marciana and the Vecchi Lavatoi of Rio nell’Elba the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago has created structures to learn more about the naturalistic aspects of the territory. Videos, illustrative panels, photos, leaflets are available to the public in every park’s house.
Our hotel, like all GotoElba hotels, has an agreement with both the Rent Boat rental of Marciana Marina (www.isoladelbarentboat.it) where it is possible to rent boats and rafts of any length both with the Mare e Monti association. Nicola with his “Nina”, his beloved sailboat, will make you know closely and enjoy the most suggestive coasts of the Island (www.vela.org).
